Since we have changed our name a new logo had to be created. The Board thought that since the children knew our mascot Spunky, we would use him. We will be teaching them to “run to Spunky” when they are hurt or in trouble, a Spunky House is a Safe House.
A new security numbering system will be implemented on the sign so that the Edmonton Police Service and Edmonton Safe Parent Board members can easily identify the Safe Parent household. Let me explain how it works, for example, your new Safe Parent number is A580013L:
EG. A580013L
A-West, B-North, C-South, D-Downtown = EPS Divisions
The next two numbers would be school areas
The next four numbers would be member numbers
The last letter would be the first letter of the Safe Parent’s last name
This way an EPS officer, or Board member, would know immediately if that sign belongs to the house. If they are on a call in C Division, it would be obvious that this design does not belong. Or, if they are at the Smith household the last letter of the sign would be an S, again it would be obvious that the sign does not belong.
A new sign will have to be given out every time you move. That way the security number will always match you and your household. So..I cannot stress enough how very important it is that you let me know when and where you are moving. I will reissue you a new sign as soon as I receive the old one. When you move, take your sign to the nearest Police Station, Community Station or Beat Office with a short note letting me know your new address. They will send it to me at Police Headquarters, at no cost to you. I will send the new one to you immediately.
I want to thank you for your patience and helping us keep our files up to date.
