The Board will be holding elections during the AGM. As you can see throughout the Newsmagazine we have a very busy Agenda this year. The Board proposes to streamline the Executive list without compromising the Association and the work that is being done. There are currently 11 positions on the Executive. This can be very cumbersome. The proposed Executive will have five (5) positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Bingo Director and Director at Large. There can be many Directors at Large as deemed necessary in any given term. Since this is an odd calendar year there are only two (2) positions up: President and Treasurer. As far as the President’s position is concerned, only Executive members may apply. This is due to the fact that they have the history and knowledge of the program. Anyone wishing to apply for the Treasurer’s position must have a financial back ground. The Treasurer’s description is as follows: |
a) Issues all cheques for the Association and has signing authority on all chequeing accounts b) Keeps all books and financial records for the Association c) Is responsible for any payroll of the Association and payment to Revenue Canada for benefits d) Presents the Auditors Report at the AGM e) Presents a full and detailed account of receipts and disbursements when requested by a Member to be produced at the next Meeting of the Association. f) Presents the budget for the new fiscal year at the AGM to be approved for the Executive Board g) Attends all Executive and General Meetings of the Association and gives a written monthly summary of the accounts to each. h) Is responsible for the safe keeping of all current fiscal financial materials pertaining to the Association |
